Peppermint Coffee (the adult version!)

Tonight, I was in the mood for something a little different. I have had enough hot chocolate for a few days, so time for something new. As it was getting late in the evening, I decided to use decaf coffee. I currently have Caribou decaf (unflavored). Mix a mug of that with some peppermint schnapps and you have a great start. To top it off, I crushed up part of a candy cane, and used the rest as my drink stirrer. Top the coffee with whipped cream and the crushed peppermint and a sweet treat is ready!

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate

A year ago, I went to Starbucks with my family and saw that they now had Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. Yep, I was in love. Three wonderful flavors all wrapped up together. The catch is always the same though, who wants to spend a ton of money with coffee shop drinks everyday?!? So I set out to make my own. With the help of my mom, we finally found the Torani syrup in sugar free Salted Caramel. So for this night, I simply started with Keurig brewed milk hot chocolate and added the syrup. Top with whipped cream and chocolate sauce for a coffee shop drink at home for a fraction of the price!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate (the adult version!)

Here is my next sweet creation. I still used the Keurig to make dark hot chocolate, but the splash of flavor was in the form of peppermint schnapps. Even better, it was homemade schnapps! Top with marshmallows, chocolate, and whipped cream for a perfect nightcap!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

About a year ago, I purchased a Keurig coffee maker...easily one of my favorite purchases in years!!! This has lead to many fun drinks. A few weeks ago, I started documenting these with photos and sharing them on Facebook. The response from friends is what pushed me to start this blog. My first drink is a classic. Peppermint Hot Chocolate. I started with dark hot chocolate, brewed in the Keurig. Add a splash of peppermint syrup (I love Torani flavors). Top it with mini marshmallows, whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce and a candy cane. Perfect drink for an evening with friends!

Welcome to my blog!

Well, I am finally going for it. I am starting a blog. My hopes are that this will turn into a place to explore favorite recipes, tips, and kitchen tricks. Feel free to send along advice, questions, or ideas. Enjoy!
